After 22 years with Hewlett-Packard, I accepted an Early Retirement in 2002. Since then, I open my own consulting business, specializing in small and medium sized businesses. My area of expertise has been:
recovering valuable data when system crashed,
updating and recovering of operating systems and applications,
implementing wireless technology,
anti-virus, firewalls,
DSL, T1,
backups.
I also focus on helping businesses understand how today's technology helps them become more successful. My customers can now spend less time in the office since they can access their information from home or when traveling. By implementing adequate security measure, they can share their data among authorized users without the risk of compromising their business due to virus or malicious access. Using calendaring to share schedules and appointments also contributes to increased productivity.
While with HP, I architected and conducted audited performance benchmarks with results that were used for new product introductions. As a member of a technical marketing organization, I collaborated in pre-sales situations with customers, utilizing technical knowledge to assist in closing deals.
During the last 8 years, I gained extensive experience with Windows server technology. I have been a Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE) on NT 4.0 since 1995 and early achiever MCSE on Windows 2000. As a Senior Performance Engineer for HP, I was responsible for all HP Netserver benchmark testing, performance tuning, and standards board submissions for Microsoft Exchange and IIS. I wrote white papers, developed collateral, and taught classes on tuning Windows and Windows-based applications. I also worked with Microsoft and made recommendations to them on testing and implementing new simulation tools.
